Non-smoking restaurants and cafes in Ankara

Türkiye banned indoor smoking in 2009; cafes and restaurants are legally smoke-free, though terraces remain a common smoking area. Ankara is the capital of Türkiye, an inland city on the Anatolian plateau. The main concentrations of cafes and restaurants are in the districts of Kızılay, which is the central commercial and social hub with dense rows of cafes along its main streets; Çankaya, a more residential and upscale district south of the center; and the historic Ulus district near the old citadel (Ankara Kalesi), where traditional tea houses and lokanta-style eateries are common. Turkish cafe culture in Ankara is anchored by çay (tea) houses and traditional Turkish coffee, alongside a wide range of modern cafes.
